3 Hospitalized in Stanton Accident; One Occupant Flees

New Castle County, Delaware (August 19, 2017) – Three people were hospitalized after a motor vehicle crash occurred in Stanton on Friday afternoon, according to a Senior Corporal.

The incident took place on the afternoon of August 18, at the intersection of James Street and Newport Road in New Castle County.

According to reports from the crash site, a red Jeep may have run a stop sign causing a black car to slam into its side. A K-9 unit arrived at the crash site after reports that one person had run away from the crash site.

Senior Corporal said that New Castle County Police arrived at the crash site.

Three people were taken by Emergency Medical Services to hospitals. A woman, 26, suffered neck pain, and a 17-year-old man suffered head and possible internal injuries. They were both transported to Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital.

A 23-year-old man complained of pain and was taken to Emergency Department of Christiana Hospital with Mile Creek Fire Company.

One victim was placed in an ambulance but refused service and was talking to police. It is not known if the victim was among those mentioned.

All victims were in a stable condition during transportation.

An investigation into the incident was headed by the New Castle County Police.
